RESUMO
A Taboca é um produto símbolo da
comida de rua da cidade de Salvador/Ba, assemelha-se à uma casquinha de
sorvete, porém, com espessura reduzida e formato cilíndrico bastante crocante.
Apesar disto, poucos são os estudos que versam sobre seu contexto e significado
para a população. Este trabalho objetiva analisar o significado para quem
consome e quem vende, apresentando seus aspectos culturais. Foi realizada
entrevista com um vendedor do produto e aplicado um questionário com pessoas
que o consomem/conhecem e analisou-se conforme análise de conteúdo, proposta
por Bardin. Observou-se as mudanças que ocorreram na venda, além disto a
relação com a afetividade e memória. Por fim, considera-se que a Taboca é um
produto tradicional do comércio de rua e que apesar das modificações na forma
de venda, ela ainda se mantém presente para os consumidores.

Taboca
is a symbol of the street food of the city of Salvador / Ba, resembles the an
ice cream cone, however, with a reduced thickness and a rather cylindrical
shape crunchy. Despite this, there are few studies that deal with their context
and meaning for the population. This paper aims to analyze the meaning for those
who consume and who sells, presenting its cultural aspects. An interview was
conducted with a product and applied a quiz with people who consume/know it and
analyzed it according to the content analysis, proposed by Bardin. It was
observed the changes that occurred in the sale, in addition to the relation
with affectivity and memory. Lastly, it is considered that Taboca is a
traditional product of street commerce and that despite the changes in the form
of sale, it still remains present for consumers.
