RESUMO
O hábito de compartilhar a mesa e comer em conjunto não desapareceu mesmo em decorrência de várias mudanças da sociedade em ralação as práticas alimentares. A partir da compreensão da Festa do Divino como manifestação da cultura popular, e que tem como aspecto principal neste trabalho apresentar a relação da alimentação nessa exibição cultural. Destaca a representação do banquete e sua importância do ritual de comensalidade nessa grande festa popular no município de Alcântara/MA. Nesse contexto utilizou-se uma revisão da literatura cientifica para a abordagem do referido tema. Empregou-se uma pesquisa de caráter exploratório centrada especialmente em revisão de literatura. Análise com abordagem qualitativa que possibilitou entender as originalidades da representação do banquete. Em atenção pensando a comensalidade em torno do ritual de sociabilidade.

ABSTRACT
The habit of sharing the table and eating together has not disappeared even as a result of various changes in society in relation to eating practices. From the understanding of the Feast of the Divine as a manifestation of popular culture, and whose main aspect in this work is to present the relationship of food in this cultural exhibition. It emphasizes the representation of the banquet and its importance of the ritual of commensality in this great popular celebration in the municipality of Alcântara / MA. In this context, a review of the scientific literature was used to approach this topic. An exploratory research focused especially on literature review was used. Analysis with a qualitative approach that allowed to understand the originalities of the representation of the banquet. Attention thinking about commensality around the ritual of sociability.
